A few months ago I helped a successful mortgage broker’s website go from zero leads per month to averaging several leads every day. Before contacting us, the mortgage broker’s website was loaded with info on how a reverse mortgage helps people. But it wasn’t bringing in the leads. Read on and you’ll find out the one secret that brought in an avalanche of leads.
This mortgage broker’s website listed why reverse mortgages are safe. He also gave away a video to people who wanted to know more. He had testimonials and other information proving he was a trustworthy mortgage broker. His website looked professional enough.
He did everything he’d read about to create a quality website. But the website was still missing something.
What Was the Missing Element?
As some of you know, I drink a lot of coffee. I like French roast coffee, which is stronger than the average Folgers or Maxwell House. I drink it black. With no foo-foo.
The other day, after drinking my morning caffeinated brew, I hopped in my car and drove to Tulsa, Oklahoma via the turnpike. (I know, I know….”What in the wide world of sports does this have to do with the missing element?” Hang on. Keep reading. The answer is below.)
There are almost no stops from my house to Tulsa on this stretch of road. No restrooms. It’s all highway with cars and trucks buzzing by at 75 miles per hour or faster. As you’ve probably guessed, my bladder was feeling a little pressure from all the coffee. I needed relief.
At first I could live with the pressure. But as I got closer to Tulsa, my eyes were crossing. The pressure was building (there is a happy ending to this story). I was looking for any place where I could get relief. As the pressure got more intense, getting relief was the ONLY thing I could think of. I had to get immediate relief.
As soon as I got off the turnpike I found the first exit with a restroom. I didn’t care how clean it was. I didn’t care about anything but getting relief. I stopped at a huge truck stop. And boy was it busy.
So . . . have you figured out why our mortgage professional’s website wasn’t bringing in any leads before we helped him?
Build Pressure then . . . Offer an Easy Path to Relief
The problem with the mortgage pro’s website was that it didn’t build any pressure for people to WANT to sign-up for his video. He gave away all the info on his web pages without asking for anything in return. So here’s what we did . . .
We turned the mortgage broker’s info on his website into pressure building web pages. The people visiting his website felt the urge to get relief. Then we gave them an easy path to relief.
Relief was as easy as signing up for the reverse mortgage video. Then the leads started pouring in.
Wet their Appetite. Build the pressure. Make them Want More
If you want your website to get leads, your job is to intensify the pressure. Then give them an easy path to relief. The more intense the pressure your potential customers feel, the faster they seek relief.
Stop. Look at your website right now. Are you creating enough pressure for website visitors to contact you? Have you created an easy path to relieve their pressure? If not, you aren’t getting nearly as many leads as you should.
